The Consumer Price Index in October stood at 123.25, an increase in all principal groups. In October 2020 the CPI stood at 118.92 making October 2021 the tenth consecutive month with an increase with respect to the year before. With an inflation of 3.6% October is the month with the highest inflation rate in 2021.
In October transportation had a 7.9% inflation, Food & beverages 4.7%, entertainment 2.6%, accommodation 1.7%, education and communication 1.4%, other articles and services 1.2%, clothes 0.5% and health care by 0.3%. Prices, in general, during 2020 deflated, making more reasonable the price increases reflected by the CPI. Supply chain problems and petroleum price increases have had a significant impact on the CPI.
