Retail Sales increase in November

Intelligent Economics > Blog > Retail Sales increase in November

Retail Sales during November 2022 have once again shown growth in their annual growth rate after the setback that occurred in September of this year due to Fiona’s passage, marking the second month in a row that sales have increased. However, the growth rate of sales has been consistently slowing down as the high prices of energy and food (among others) still persist.

Sales registered for November 2022 amounted to $3,168.6 million dollars, which represents an increase of 2.5% if we compare it with the same month in 2021. In the last 30 months or since the pandemic crisis in 2020, sales have reported increases in 25 of these.

The groups with the highest reported increases were: Restaurants and places of drinks (+16.3%); Shoe stores (+16.1%); Supermarkets and alcoholic beverage stores (+7.6%); Pharmacies and drugstores (+6.5%); and electronics stores (+6.3%).
